Tudor Ox

And here is my second entry for the contest of 's. Introducing: Tudor, the Toros!

His nickname came from the rabbit of the zodiac group. "Gong Niu Chong". It translates to "Strong Bull".

Over the period of 1000 years, Tudor developed from being a narcissistic, power-crazed Olympiad to being a gentle, protective, and reliable humanoid ox.

Shield: His shield is made of a strong steel, encrusted with diamonds, and coated wtih gold. It was given to him by a blacksmith, thankful for him protecting the blacksmith's home. The shield has been with him ever since.

Psychic Ability: It requires a bit of explanation. Depending on the person's status with Tudor, when that person looks at him, they will either feel the courage that he feels, or fear that comes from his stature. If the person is someone he cares for/ desires to protect, they will feel his courage. If someone looks at him with intent to hurt him or his loved ones, they will feel fear (varying levels based on their intent).

Backstory:

Tudor lived in an ancient Greek city. He was a Pankration Olympiad and was one of the best. His great strength was almost unmatched..... Yet, this did not satisfy him. He had the fame that most Pankration wrestlers got, but he wanted more fame. The crowds cheering for him were intoxicating. The many victories were invigorating -- he wanted more.

With a limited knowledge of the myth of his city, and the biggest part of the myth being a demi-goddess (Sorceress) living amongst the people of the city, he scoured the city in search of this demi-goddess. Through a whole story of its own, he managed to find the demi-goddess, and demanded she grant him his wish.

Upon telling her his wish to be the strongest person alive, and how it would lead to him being infamous, this demi-goddess said he had to prove the strength he already had in order for her to grant his wish. To prove his strength, he had to mercilessly kill the next competitor in a Pankration fight.

Needless to say, he did. Upon returning to the demi-goddess, she gave a wry smile and said, "You will be stronger than many oxen!"

With the magic she used, she then turned Tudor into a beast. Half ox, and half man. He was appalled by his new guise and immediately tried to kill himself... but found he could not die. He then demanded the demi-goddess change him back. She gave him another deal. She would allow him the great strength he now possesses and also return him back to his human self if he were to use his strength the single-handedly take down an entire city.

Again, with no surprise, he did... or, at least, started to. When he was 1/3rd done with destroying the city, he stopped, pulling the arrows out of his heart, and the spear from his side. The third of the city already destroyed seemed to... please him.... His strength was unmatched. He could destroy anything with the throw of a fist. He felt invincible!

Yet, at that moment, after his thoughts of chaos, he looked over to an alleyway, still intact, not yet destroyed by his hand, and he saw a little child in the alleyway, staring at him wtih awestruck horror.

This stare changed him and made him realized that, instead of being infamous for what he was good at, he was being infamous for being a monster.... He then knew that it was his selfish desires that turned him into this beast.

He immediately confronted the demi-goddess, pleading her to change him back, saying he didn't want to be a monster, but be loved by those he knew... not feared.

To his dismay, she declined. The one thing he forgot about this woman, was that she was a mistress who enjoyed suffering.

Because of his new guise, and his new strength, the toros decided to travel the land, aiding those in need. He did this for nearly a thousand years, because he could not die. This new reputation had, by that point, overshadowed the reputation he had made for himself before. He was now known as a legendary hero.

To this day, however (medieval times), he searched for a way to turn himself back to who he once was. Time had changed him, and he no longer wanted the fame. He just wanted to be himself.
